Red rice, Aval, Coconut, Karupatti, Ghee

Soaking

Soak red rice 4 hours, aval 30 minutes before grinding

Grinding

Grind together into a smooth, thick batter — like idli batter consistency

Fermentation

Ferment 8 hours — this makes it soft inside without baking soda

Cooking in pan

Add ghee in each hole, pour batter, cover and cook medium flame

The flip

Flip when edges look set — cook both sides golden brown
