Ingredients
Method
- Add 1 cup of homemade Kullakar Rice Kanji Powder to a pressure cooker.
- Pour in 1½ cups water and mix well.
- Close the cooker and cook for 5 whistles on medium heat.
- Allow the pressure to release naturally.
- Open the cooker and mix the cooked kanji well.
- Take a small portion of the cooked mixture in a bowl.
- Add enough drinking water to reach your preferred kanji consistency.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Top with finely chopped onions if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- The kanji powder is ground slightly coarse, so the cooked texture will resemble partially broken rice.
- Adjust the amount of water according to your preferred consistency.
- Fresh kanji can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Chopped onions add a traditional village-style flavor.
